Silence in the crowd. This is a controversial statement. How is that possible? It is also a spiritual practice. First there is meditation training, then you practice, then you schedule it in your agenda, then it becomes a necessity and then… comes the silence. In the ancient scriptures we called this samadhi. It is a deep state, a zone where time and space blur, where thoughts fade away and you dwell in silence.
When this feeling comes without effort, then you are ready for the silence in the crowd. Practice on the train, choose a quiet line and a quiet carriage. After an hour of samadhi you can continue to the waiting room of a train station, and so on throughout the day to busier places. Enjoy…
